Compare like for like
Check the exact model, size, plan, quantity, warranty and included accessories. A lower headline price may refer to a different configuration.
Look at total cost
Add delivery, taxes, setup fees, service charges and recurring costs where relevant.
Check historical context
If you regularly buy an item, keep your own record of previous prices. This gives you a better reference than a retailer’s “was” price alone.
Compare return terms
A slightly cheaper offer can have a materially different return, replacement or warranty process. Read those terms before purchasing.
Do not rush
Limited-time messaging can create pressure. If the product is not genuinely urgent, take a moment to verify the seller and terms.
Before you decide
Use the points above as a checklist rather than a substitute for the terms of the specific product or service. When an offer includes an affiliate link or sponsored placement, the relationship is explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.
